Dietary Aide/Housekeeping

Dietary Aide will assist cook as required in preparation of meals such as washing, stocking making toast, peeling and cutting fruits & vegetables. Makes beverage such as tea, coffee and juices. Serves and cleans kitchen and dining room areas. Housekeeping Aide performs general cleaning duties inside and outside the facility, including the cleaning of resident’s room, bathrooms, staff rooms, offices and other areas as designated.

Activity Worker

Pinegrove Place is a 76 bed long term care home in Richmond, BC looking for Casual Activity Workers to join our team.

Activity workers are the heart and soul of Pinegrove. As an Activity Worker, you have the opportunity to build relationships with residents, be an advocate for choice, and get to run fun programs in the process.

Activity workers are part of the recreation team, working under the supervision of the Recreation Manager and collaborating with art therapy, music therapy, contracted entertainment and volunteers.

Responsibilities include planning and facilitating recreation programs, engaging with residents one to one, and driving and assisting on our community outings with the Pinegrove bus.

Formal education in a recreation-related course is required, students are okay too. Unfortunately, we cannot hire "Social Service Workers" for this role. The ability to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset.

Health Career Access Program

Job Summary

Pinegrove Place is looking to hire Health Care Support Workers via the Health Career Access Program (HCAP). Upon completing the training opportunity, successful candidates will be eligible to register as a Care Aide with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry.

The Long-term Care and Assisted Living (HCAP LTC) program requires a total commitment of 1.5 to 2 years. Successful candidates are expected to be available 37.5 hours a week including mornings, evenings, and weekends during the program. They may also work as healthcare support workers for up to six months before starting school. The education portion of the program typically consists of eight months. After graduation, employees are required to fulfill the Return of Service Agreement for 12 months. Post-graduation, thereare no guaranteed work hours, and positions may be casual, part-time, or full-time.

Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and booksduring the training program.

As this is a Ministry of Health funded program, eligible candidates for the Health Career Access Program must be a Canadian citizen orpermanent resident and will need to undergo a criminal record check for peopleworking with children or vulnerable adults.

Working under the supervision of the Director of Care, the LPN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for their work assignments in accordance with competency guidelines and standards of practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals and current legislative scope of practice.

Responsible for carrying out the nursing process utilizing all techniques and interpersonal skills to promote the residents’ highest functioning ability and to enhance the quality of life for the residents.

If you are a self-starter who works well independently but also part of an interdisciplinary team, and have primary care nursing experience, we have the opportunity for you to join our nursing team at Pinegrove Place. Responsible for carrying out the nursing process utilizing all techniques and interpersonal skills to promote the residents’ highest functioning ability and to enhance the quality of life for the resident. Reporting to and under the direction of the Director of Care or designate, the nurse is responsible for resident safety and for the evaluation of the resident’s physical, psychological and social health needs.The nurse directs resident care as required including the provision of treatments and the administration of medications. Dialogues with and acts as a mentor for the LPN’s, Care Aides and other interdisciplinary staff in provision of nursing care and general efficient functioning of Pinegrove Place. Develops care plans and activities of daily living in conjunction with other health care professionals. Functions within the BCCNP professional practice standards. Follows Pinegrove Place's policies in regards to nursing practice and procedures.
