Licensed Practical Nurse

Pinegrove Place is a 76 bed long term care home in Richmond, BC looking for LPNs to join our team.

If you are a self-starter who works well independently but also part of an interdisciplinary team, and have primary care nursing experience, we have the opportunity for you to join our nursing team at Pinegrove Place.

Working under the supervision of the Director of Care, the LPN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for their work assignments in accordance with competency guidelines and standards of practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals and current legislative scope of practice.

Responsible for carrying out the nursing process utilizing all techniques and interpersonal skills to promote the residents’ highest functioning ability and to enhance the quality of life for the residents.

You must be a graduate of a recognized nursing program, have current practicing registration from the BC College of Nursing Professionals and current CPR and level one occupational first aid.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Salary: $28.43 to $32.98/hour

Health Care Assistant

We are looking for casual on call Care Aides to join our team at Pinegrove Place. We are a 76 bed Christian, non profit, long term care home located in Richmond, BC.

The Care Aide works under the supervision of the Director of Care or designate and the day-to-day direction of the RN/LPN. The Care Aide performs duties for the provision of care to the residents. Responsible and accountable for all care provided to residents and attitude towards residents, family members and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Assists residents by providing personal care according to residents identified individual care plan needs.

Encourages and assists residents to participate in social and recreational activities by reminding them of programs; assists resident with ambulation to attend recreational program

Transfers, porters and ambulates residents within Pinegrove Place, utilizing mechanical aides such as lifts, wheelchairs, and walkers as outlined in the resident’s individual care plan.

Ensures residents receive adequate nutrition according to individual care plans by assisting with meals, distributing meals, and nourishments, noting changes in appetite and food preferences.

Enters pertinent resident information by documenting daily/weekly/monthly information in appropriate binders.
Reports observed changes in resident activity level, behavior, or physical well-being to the Nurse.

Reminds residents of their appointments with hairdresser, dentist, doctors,podiatrist, etc. and assists them to appropriate designated areas.

Maintains current knowledge of and complies with all Pinegrove Place's policies and procedures including protocol for infection control and resident safety.

Maintains work area in clean and safe conditions.

Responds to incidents or emergencies in accordance with policy, procedure and training.
Attends unit/care home meetings and education sessions collegially sharing information and problem solving.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Resident Care Aide Program. Must be registered with the BC Care Aide Registry

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively
Physical ability to carry out duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment
Must be physically capable to lift, bend down and stand for long periods

Registered Nurse (RN)

Pinegrove Place is a 76 bed long term care home in Richmond, BC looking for RN's or RPN's to join our team for casual positions.

If you are a self-starter who works well independently but also part of an interdisciplinary team, and have primary care nursing experience, we have the opportunity for you to join our nursing team at Pinegrove Place. Responsible for carrying out the nursing process utilizing all techniques and interpersonal skills to promote the residents’ highest functioning ability and to enhance the quality of life for the resident. Reporting to and under the direction of the Director of Care or designate, the nurse is responsible for resident safety and for the evaluation of the resident’s physical, psychological and social health needs.The nurse directs resident care as required including the provision of treatments and the administration of medications. Dialogues with and acts as a mentor for the LPN’s, Care Aides and other interdisciplinary staff in provision of nursing care and general efficient functioning of Pinegrove Place. Develops care plans and activities of daily living in conjunction with other health care professionals. Functions within the BCCNP professional practice standards.Follows Pinegrove Place's policies in regards to nursing practice and procedures.
